I, Claudius
by Robert Graves
Review of I, Claudius by Robert Graves
When I read I, Claudius, I thought it was just OK. About a year later the series
ROME came out and I really got into it. I later went back and read Claudius The God, also by Robert Graves, and enjoyed it quite a
bit.
Both books are told in an autobiographical manner by the emperor
Tiberius Claudius Drusus Nero Germanicus writing his memiors. The 2 books
together follow Claudius from his childhood through his rise to the throne and his death.
If you are into roman history at all I think you will like these two books although I dont really
know if the Claudius books required a lot of research or a lot of imagination to write.
