Madame Bovary
by Gustave Flaubert
Review of Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
I read this book last summer because my best friend couldn't stop talking about it. OK, to be
completly truthful, I thouhgt the book was a bit boring. The story is pretty good, but it moves at such a slow pace, and I thouhgt it only
started to get interesting half way through. It's about a french woman who marries a doctor and always feels like she wants more from life.
She is unhappy in her marriage and ends up having a series of affairs. I would probably reccomend this book only for the sake of the story
actually being very good, but the pace is really very slow. But what I liked about it was that the writer used the stream conscios
technique, so we see Madam Bovary's day dreams and so on. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars.
