Pride and Prejudice
by Jane Austen
Review of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I refused to read this book in high school because I
thought it was a silly soap opera that was not worth my time. Having recently gone back and read it cover to cover, I couldn't have been
more wrong. Austin does an incredible job of weaving humor and sarcasm into a witty tale of 18th century high society in England and the
woes of young women searching for a balance between finding true love and maintaining a good appearance.

I was never a big fan of classics because I thought they were long and boring. I have to
admit that the first time I was attracted to reading Pride and Prejudice was when I was watching 'You've Got Mail' (for the 100th
time) and Meg Ryan's character says she loves that book. A while later I found it in my high school library so I decided to borrow it. I
loved it and I kept the book for 3 weeks instead of one!! It is now my favorite book of all time.
